Hi, I'm Julia :)
I am a multifaceted designer specializing in healthcare innovation, with a background in public health and an MA in Design on Health from UT Austin. My expertise spans service design, systems thinking, and chronic care innovation, blending clinical and academic research with human-centered design methodologies.
I am deeply passionate about improving the customer experience and quality of life for users while crafting impactful, scalable solutions. My approach integrates strategic thinking with a holistic perspective, ensuring that every design exceeds stakeholder expectations in both quality and value. By leveraging design as a tool for meaningful change, I create systems that drive better outcomes for individuals, healthcare providers, and communities alike.

My Story
November 18, 2019, I was confronted with the true essence of "quality of life," a pivotal moment that propelled me into design. Reflecting on my past, if you had asked me five years ago if I lived a quality life, my response would have been an unequivocal "yes." However, the reality was far from it.
During this journey, I formed a profound bond with a childhood friend who was facing serious medical challenges. Supporting her through recurrent hospital admissions, frequent outpatient procedures, and ultimately hospice care, I did my best to stand by her and her family.
These experiences exposed me to the poor interfaces and overall horrible customer experiences in healthcare. Watching her and others struggle with the same frustrating systems not only highlighted the deficiencies in healthcare technology but also ignited my desire to be at the forefront, advocating for others and transforming services. I wanted to begin learning better ways to truly make hands on social impact and healthcare system.
Tragically, my dear friend passed away on December 31, 2018, further solidifying my resolve to effect change. These transformative experiences and my newfound perspective propelled me to pursue a pioneering path, leading me to apply for the inaugural Masters in Design with a Concentration in Health at the University of Texas at Austin.
My ambition is to leverage design principles and accessibility to craft innovative systems and services rooted in empathy, ultimately enhancing the customer experience.
In my downtime, I actively volunteer with two nonprofits and continuously seek opportunities to learn and grow in my career.
